6 Months Old and a Long Overdue Update

(If you haven't read the blog post about Jakob being a monkey in our Pre-Kindergarten circus, make sure to look at the post below this one---two posts in one day---can you believe it)?
****ALSO---I have made a music player at the very bottom of our blog. There is music on Jakob's circus video, so you will need to scroll down to the very bottom of the blog and pause the player so that you don't have two different kinds of music going at the same time.****

Well---it's hard to believe that our Audree is now six months old. She is beginning to sit with support and can even sit for a couple of minutes on her own. She giggles at her brother and both of them have yelling matches to communicate. It is the funniest thing to watch them together. They definitely have lots of love for one another! She lights up a room with her smile and dimples. At her six month well child visit, she weighed 16 lbs. 10 oz. She still nurses like a champ and I am debating letting her try some cereal and vegetables sometime soon, (not sure about that one yet). She did qualify for therapy services through ECI. They came and assessed her a couple of weeks ago and she began therapy yesterday. They will come out twice each month, (once to the school and once to the house). Her right hand is definitely tighter than her left. She keeps it clenched often and they have said that it looks like the issue is in the muscle leading from her thumb to her hand. They have called it an indwelling thumb because she keeps it in her palm and doesn't fully extend her fingers 50% or more of the time. She is on a three month old level in fine motor just because of that one hand. She uses her left hand to compensate for her right, (she is a smart thing). We are putting toys on her right side to force her to grab them. We have been asked to use fatter toys that will also force her to open her hand up to grab them and let them go---further excercising the hand. We do stretching on that hand and weight bearing excercises to make it lie flat. I am praying that all will be ok in a couple of months. The therapists feel like it's something minor that will be ok with some therapy for awhile, but they don't think that she will need their services for very long. Please pray for her. As a mom it's hard to see your baby not "perfect," but we are thankful to have her to light up our lives. She is truly a joy! Below is a slide show of some recent pictures of her. Sorry it took me so long to update.
